Stephen Gollogly Death, Former Monaghan Footballer and Carrickmacross Emmets Star Dies at 41

The Monaghan GAA community is mourning the death of former county footballer Stephen Gollogly, who passed away on Wednesday at the age of 41. The Carrickmacross native was remembered as a highly respected player, devoted clubman, and valued member of the wider GAA community.

Gollogly, affectionately known as “Jinxy,” enjoyed a distinguished 14-year inter-county career with Monaghan. He made 133 competitive appearances for the county between 2004 and 2017, scoring 3-71. During his career, he helped Monaghan secure Ulster Senior Football Championship titles in 2013 and 2015, as well as National Football League honours.

Funeral arrangements reported by the Irish Examiner and other Irish media indicate that Gollogly will repose at Lonergan Funeral Directors Funeral Home in Carrickmacross on Saturday, July 25, with his funeral taking place at St Joseph’s Church on Monday, July 27, followed by burial at St Joseph’s Cemetery.
